Job Description:

Our client is seeking an individual with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to monitor and support various web-based and mainframe systems, and to engineer, control, and support desktop, telephony, and networked environments. This position will work closely with the Director of Information Technology to ensure that all systems are responding within service level agreements established with our business partners.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide support in the following areas:
AS400 infrastructure, operations, and applications
Desktop hardware and software
Network layer support
Web-based infrastructure, operations and applications
Routine and ad hoc IT operations (e.g., removable storage backups)
Manage the support queue
Assume responsibility for the quality of support – includes timely resolution of all support requests, ensuring proper documentation is delivered, and that appropriate root cause analysis is performed
Engineer changes to the organization’s physical infrastructure as business and technical needs dictate change – this includes (but is not limited to):
Servers
Workstations
Printers
Other hardware (e.g., telephony, routers and switches, storage devices)
Configure and deploy these changes
Assist with the evaluation and resolution of system security issues
Manage relationships with hardware and software vendor resources
Researches alternatives for hardware and software solutions through all phases from gathering of requirements to selection and negotiation of pricing and terms
