Position Description/Responsibilities:

CAI is seeking a Data Warehouse Lead for a client engagement in Washington, DC.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for the design of all the layers of the data warehousing solution for Financial instruments analytics and reporting, which include but not limited to, Data consolidation, Transformation/Conversions, Services, Analytics and Reporting

· Accountable for the quality of the design and cohesion across the various systems/components of the design. The solution involves multitude of systems that play a role in the solution

· Coordinate the data rationalization activity across business and IT teams

· Responsible for the specification of the solution design that can be consumed by development teams and potentially external vendors to develop implementation plans

· Ensure optimal use of technology through a scalable design of the solution; Escalate any architectural issues with the relevant teams and bring them to closure

· Interpreting business requirements, formulating business metrics for reporting, articulate requirements in technical terms and facilitate transforming such business requirements into technical solution patterns

following standard Data Warehousing principles and standard practices.

· Oversee the design of different components of proposed Data warehouse platform components.

· Assist the Project Manager in developing detailed tasks, sequences, and schedules, including resource requirements

· Report to the Project Manager the status of the design activities and issues

· Must be able present diagnostic, troubleshooting steps and conclusions to a varied audience.

· Coordinate efforts around defining overall data warehouse architecture (e.g., ETL process, ODS, EDW, Data Marts)

· Define technical requirements, technical and data architectures for the data warehouse.

· Adhere to enterprise standard toolset and recommend implementation pattern for select data warehouse technologies (e.g., ETL, DBMS, Data Quality, BI, Data Virtualization).

· Direct and own data profiling, data discovery and data mapping exercise.

· Design and direct the ETL process, including data quality and testing.

· Design and direct the information access and delivery effort for the data warehouse.

· Define and direct the implementation of security requirements for the data warehouse.

· Define meta data standards for the data warehouse.

· Direct the data warehouse meta data capture and access effort.

· Define production release requirements and sustainment architecture.

 

REQUIREMENTS

· Minimum 8+ years in a Technical Lead or Consulting role leading Information Management related initiatives (system integration, data warehouse build, data mart build, or similar)

· Must have knowledge in every component of a Data Warehouse to direct efforts and manage the same.

· MUST have proven leadership experience in coordinating between multiple technical teams, stakeholders, fiduciary review groups and senior management reporting.

· Experience in Banking & Finance domain (experience in Financial Products Analytics would be added advantage).

· Experience utilizing or leading implementations leveraging Informatica ETL tool and other components of the ETL suite.

· Experience in Business Objects BI Reporting tool.

· Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau.

· Sound understanding of metadata and Data Quality processes.

· Experience with Data Virtualization concepts and hands-on exposure (Exposure to Composite Data Virtualization platform would be added advantage)

· Experience in one or more of major data modeling tools such as Erwin, Data Architect, Oracle Designer.

· Extensive experience in Oracle 10.x and well-versed with other RDBMS platforms such as DB2, SQL server.

· Should have extensive experience with SQL and PL/SQL, with hands-on expertise with languages like C, UNIX shell scripting, PERL and JAVA.

· Experienced Lead and or managed team of ETL Developer, Business Analysts, Data Modelers, BI Report developers.

· Strong data modeling skills (normalized and multidimensional).

· Strong business and communication skills.

· Broad based information technology experience (e.g., languages, methods, EAI, XML).

· Strong professional consulting skills.

· Current knowledge of the data warehouse market; vendors, and standards bodies
