Position Description/Responsibilities:

We are looking for a strong Business Analyst with experience in the Fixed Income Trading and Treasury Operations domains who can thrive in a fast paced environment. We are seeking candidates who are proactive, self-starters, and have a proven track record to work independently with minimal supervision.

 

Extensive experience as a Business Analyst for a large asset manager, Wall Street bank or major financial institution.  In-depth knowledge of fixed income trading, banking, and treasury business processes, workflows and industry practices.

 

At least 5 years’ experience with analyzing, deploying and supporting solutions for Fixed Income lines of business (i.e. Repos, Treasuries money market instruments, etc.).

 

Conversant at a functional level with any of the following is a plus:

Investment Accounting systems Cash Management systems, and/or General Ledger systems.

 

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science/Information Systems, or Finance, with a minimum of 8+ years’ relevant technical and business work experience.

 

Extensive experience in gathering business requirements, developing functional specifications, and defining use cases and test cases.  Experience with the system development lifecycle methodology and different models including Waterfall and Agile.

 

Strong process analysis skills and ability to suggest improvements for efficiency and effectiveness of solutions.  Ability to recommend and implement industry best practices.

 

Experience developing business, systems and technical requirements documents.

Skilled at composing use case diagrams, data flow diagrams, system documentation, and end-user manuals.

 

Proven ability to design, develop, write test plans, test cases, test scripts, and define business scenarios for application and user acceptance testing.

 

Experience leading functional testing and product acceptance activities as well as user acceptance testing.

Desired Skills

Demonstrable knowledge of Bloomberg trading platform a strong plus.

 

Conversant at a functional level with SunGard AG Quantum, Summit FT, and SAP.

 

Professional Business Analyst Certification a strong plus.

Assignment Overview:

Assignment will be primarily focused on the Money Market System Replacement project.  This project will replace the current in-house Money Market system at the client site with an extended Bloomberg AIM implementation. We are looking for a senior-level business analyst with extensive experience in the Fixed Income Trading and Money Markets, Treasury Operations, Banking, Cash Management, and

Accounting domain.

 

Responsibilities:

 

The Senior Business Analyst contractor will provide dedicated support to the client’s Investment Management Division and Treasury Operations teams. The Senior Business Analyst contractor will work closely with these business lines but will be exposed to all functional areas of Treasury, and will report

directly to the Project Manager.

 

General Accountability:

 

The Business Analyst contractor will provide dedicated support to the Investment Management Division and Treasury Operations teams of IBRD Treasury.

The Business Analyst contractor will work closely with these business lines but will be exposed to many functional areas of Treasury, and will report directly to the Project Manager.

 

The contractor will work with a number of applications and tools including order management platforms/trade capture applications, cash management and payment systems, accounting systems, and data warehouses/repositories.  They should also demonstrate an understanding of the needs of these types of applications as well as possess the ability to quickly learn new applications The individuals serving in this role require prior successful experience in working within a matrix organization. They provide constructive feedback to team members as it pertains to overall performance, They are also expected to

provide the highest level of expertise in the application of the tools and techniques of the business analyst discipline, and of the software development life cycle (SDLC).

The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions:

· Interface with the business client to understand business needs and requirements, and to help develop and maintain the client relationship.

· Document business and IT processes and workflows.

· Evaluate applications and IT environments, and analyze gaps between current and desired states.  Propose recommendations based on industry best practices.

· Collaborate with IT professionals to determine if solutions currently exist (internally or externally) or whether new solutions are feasible to meet business requirements.

· Participate in the evaluation of new products or initiatives to determine technology support required.

· Assist in crafting business cases that lead to initiative funding through a rigorous governance process.

· Lead the collection, analysis, documentation and coordination of detailed requirements by working with trading solutions and operations teams.

· Design and execute test cases for application development and implementation projects – ensure complete requirements traceability.

· Provide overall support to ensure the successful design, testing and implementation of applications that support the asset management business line.

· Maintain documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software, analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action; consult with key stakeholders in resolution of problems.

· Compose training documentation and conduct training on the use of trading systems and processes.

· Responsible for overall success of user acceptance testing, including results verification and release.

· Document and manage open issues and assist in planning for resolution for complex projects.

· Complete understanding of the testing lifecycle and proven ability to plan User Acceptance Testing: design, document and execute test cases and provide vendor with testing feedback.
