Position Description/Responsibilities:

CAI an Equal Opportunity Employer is seeking candidates for Trapeze Transit Operations Planning System (TOPS) Developer positions.  Client is Chicago Transit Authority (CTA).  Developer will be supporting Trapeze TOPS modules.

 

Application Support Developer

Key Responsibilities

  • New development, enhancements, modifications, etc. will be required as client refines processes, configurations, and customizations and proceeds with the continuous automation of maintenance and operational activities. The developer will work with the business users and support analysts to complete the following activities.
    • Capturing of requirements
    • Monitor interfaces daily
    • Identify and resolve issues, which includes coordinating with the TOPS sys admin for issue resolution
    • Design and estimation of changes and updates
    • Development of enhancements, functionality, etc.
    • Facilitation of testing and user sign-offs
    • Facilitation of change management and release planning
    • Post implementation and warranty support for production changes
    • Provides support for TOPS system interfaces

 

Specific Responsibilities

  • Work with a large team of application specialists supporting our client’s enterprise applications.  The team has members with a variety of roles, including DBA, developers, functional/business analysts, and management.
  • Resolve events within Service Level Agreement time frames.
  • Assess and triage issues.  Escalating issues to management as appropriate.
  • Deliver defect-free enhancements that are compliant with industry and application best practices.
  • Unit Testing/Integration; Testing/System Testing
  • Using Computer Aid’s metric based methodology and tools, perform analysis to identify and resolve recurring issues.
  • On-call rotation within the support team to provide 24/7 Client Support
  • Participate occasionally in support phone queue management
  • Promote team work and effective communication.  Foster mutually beneficial working relationships with all CAI and client team members at all levels.
  • Gather user requirements, and deliver quality functional and technical design documentation aligned with user requirements.
  • Develop custom enhancements and break fixes to the supported applications.
  • Perform documentation and code review sessions
  • Maintain System Documentation
  • Rapidly learn new applications and technologies as new systems are added to CAI’s scope.
  • Participate in key SLDC project phases and activities including solution design/architecture, development, quality control, and cutover management.
  • Participate in cross training and knowledge sharing of best practices amongst and outside of the team
  • Organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative, resolve problems, follow through, and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.

Position Requirements/Technical Skills:

Skills

  •  5+ years experience  working on IT projects across multiple phases of the SDLC
  • Good written and oral communicator
  • Good Oracle ERP technical experience
  • Experience thriving in high pressure situations is highly desirable.
  • Must have temperament and patience with all roles in a complex organization.
  • Public sector expire is desirable
  • PCI compliancy experience is desirable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites, 2007 or 2010
  • Must have a strong customer service orientation
  • Must possess excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Must have excellent documentation skills and experience
  • Must be able to anticipate and proactively handle issues.
  • Must be excellent at personal task management and follow through.
  • Oracle ERP technical & functional experience is must across all modules
